PLAINFIELD, Ill. (Feb. 23, 2018) –
The North Central College men's tennis team took on a tough NCAA Division I opponent in Eastern Illinois University on Friday, falling 9-0 in a neutral site match at Five Star Tennis Center.
 
The Panthers (3-7) opened play with a clean sweep of doubles play, as Victor Krueger and Adam Winters fought Jared Woodson and Gage Kingsmith to the wire but ultimately fell 8-5.
 
In singles play, Eastern Illinois was victorious in all six matches, but Lucas Pindak was the lone Cardinal to win a set, coming back from a 6-2 first-set loss against Kingsmith at the No. 5 position to win the second set 6-4, before suffering a 10-3 defeat in the tiebreaker.
 
North Central (2-5) has a short layoff before returning to the court tomorrow morning, hosting Aurora University and Concordia University-Ann Arbor in a triangular inside the Res/Rec Center with matches at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
