Men's Tennis Falls to Augustana, 8-1

In a match moved to Friday due to expected weather this weekend, the North Central College men's tennis team fell 8-1 to last year's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) runner-up Augustana College at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
Augustana (12-8, 3-1 CCIW) opened the day with a pair of 8-3 wins at the top-two doubles positions, before Tyler Haizel and Adam Winters attempt at avoiding the clean sweep fell just short against Peter Alex and Scott Daluga, suffering a heartbreaking 9-8 defeat.
 
In singles play, the Vikings went on to claim the top-five spots, each in straight sets, while Lucas Pindak was able to avoid the shut out for North Central, taking down Alex Riddle, 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 6 position.
 
North Central (7-12, 2-2 CCIW) returns to the court on Thursday, Apr. 19, hosting Carthage College with matches scheduled for 3 p.m.
