Men's Tennis Falls Short to Carthage

In the midst of a four-match homestand, the North Central College men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Carthage College on Friday in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) matchup at the NCC Tennis Courts.
 
After the Red Men (9-9, 4-1 CCIW) claimed the opening doubles match at the No. 1 position, Victor Krueger and Tyler Bussell evened the match score 1-1 with a 8-3 win over Lukasz Jaworski and Fordy Leipold at No. 1.
 
Carthage clawed out a 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles and went on to win five of the six singles matches in straight sets.  Tyler Haizel scored the lone win for North Central, taking down Matt Krzewinski, 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5 position.
 
North Central (7-13, 2-3) wraps up the homestand on Saturday, Apr. 21, hosting Carroll University on Senior Day beginning at 10 a.m.
