WHEATON, Ill. (Apr. 24, 2018) – Wrapping up the regular season on Tuesday at College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) foe Wheaton College, the North Central College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the Wheaton Tennis Courts.

The Thunder (6-10, 4-1 CCIW) opened with a clean sweep of doubles play, winning each of the three matches by identical 8-3 scores.

In singles play, Tyler Haizel battled out a 6-4 first set win over Josh Cheng but was not able to hang on, suffering a heartbreaking 6-2, 11-9 defeat at the No. 4 position.  At No. 5, Alex Kohlmeier's match turned out much like Haizel's, taking the opening set 6-3 over Karl Wenzel, until Wenzel rebounded to win the match 6-4, 10-6.

North Central is null until the CCIW Tournament beginning on Thurs., May 3 with the opponent and time of the opening match to be announced.
