Apr. 7, 2018 – The North Central College men's tennis team improved to 2-1 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play with a decisive 8-1 victory over Elmhurst College on Saturday indoors at Naperville Tennis Club.
The Cardinals (7-11, 2-1 CCIW) started the match with a 2-0 advantage as Elmhurst (0-10, 0-1 CCIW) only had five available players, defaulting at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
North Central went on to sweep the top two singles spots, as

Tyler Bussell fought out an 8-6 win over Shawn Sabaricos and David Demoll at No. 1, while
Alex Kohlmeier and
Lucas Pindak teamed up to take down Tavious Imperial and Grant O'Connell, 8-2 at the No. 2 position.
Carrying that momentum into singles play, Bussell made quick work of Nico Favuzzi, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, before Pindak sealed the match win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Imperial at No. 5.
Krueger then defeated Sabaricos handily by a 6-2, 6-1 score, before the Bluejays got on the board with a win at No. 2, but
Marco Salazar closed out the day with a comeback win over O'Connell, 3-6, 6-1, 10-6 at the No. 3 position.
North Central returns to the court on Saturday, Apr. 14 with a pair of matches at Augustana College's Lower Campus Courts, taking on the host Vikings in the morning at 9 a.m., followed by the University of Dubuque in a non-conference match at noon.
