May 4, 2018 – Playing in the semi-finals of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship for the first time since 2010, the North Central College men's tennis team fell in an early hole after doubles play and never recovered against Wheaton College, falling 5-0 on Friday at Nike Park.

Beginning the afternoon with doubles play, the Thunder (10-10) took positions one and three by scores of 8-3, before scoring a 8-6 win at No. 2 to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

Wheaton was then victorious in the first two positions, both in straight sets, to take the 5-0 match victory.

North Central (8-16) plays Carthage College on Saturday, May 5 in the third-place match with matches slated for 11 a.m. at Nike Park.
