CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Sept. 30, 2018) – The North Central College women's triathlon team put on an impressive display at the University of Illinois Tri the Illini Triathlon on Sunday, boasting the race's individual champion and three of the top-five finishers.

Naomi Hill won the race time of one hour, nine minutes, 15.2 seconds and teammate Katherine Canfield placed second overall, completing the 300-meter swim, 14-mile bike, and 5,000-meter run with a time of 1:09:54.8.

Jennifer Hufnagle was the next Cardinal to finish, placing fifth overall with a time of 1:10:49.6 and Amy Feltz (1:18:58.1) placed 14th. Amelia Woods placed 32nd with a time of 1:32:10.4.

North Central had a strong showing against multiple Division III schools including Milwaukee School of Engineering, Concordia University (Wis.) and Millikin University, as well as numerous Division I teams.

The Cardinals have a long break until the USA Triathlon East Region Qualifier on Oct. 20 in Huddleston, Va., the final race before the 2018 USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship the first weekend in November. Race time for the East Region Qualifier is set for 8 a.m.
