Oct. 29, 2019 - North Central College women's student-athletes Aly Crum and Madison Lockard have received the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week awards from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) this week for their efforts in two Cardinal victories last week.

This is the first time in the program's history that two North Central players have swept the awards. For Crum, this is her first time winning the award this season and in her career and the third time Lockard has received the honor with all of them coming during the 2019 season, establishing a new program record for number of awards in a single season.

The first win of the week for the Cardinals came against Elmhurst College on Oct. 23. Crum scored both of the goal for the Cardinals, tying the game in the 59th minute and following up with the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute. Lockard saved nine shots on the day for the Cardinals in that contest, recording her eighth win of the season.

Their second win came when they traveled to North Park to take on the Vikings. Crum recorded another goal, bringing her season total to seven, which leads the team. She also assisted on a goal by Kaitlyn Cannon. Lockard only was called on to make four saves in the game while recording her fifth shutout of the season, tying her for second in program history for the statistic in a single season.

The Cardinals (9-7-1, 5-3 CCIW) look to finish their regular season schedule against University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Oct. 30 before the CCIW conference tournament begins on Nov. 6.
