Oct. 3, 2019 - Three members of the North Central College softball team earned 2018-19 Nationals Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) honors on Wednesday. The team was also honored with academic accolades for the second consecutive season.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 1,928 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2018-19. As a conference, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) honored three institutions and 19 student-athletes.

The Cardinals ended the year with a team GPA of 3.101, while Carroll College and Illinois Wesleyan University also received the team award.

Senior Taylor Clugston'19 Collier and freshmen Nykia Wetterman and Molly Cann earned the award as individuals. In program history, 60 total North Central softball players have won the award, in addition to four total teams.

North Central begins their 2020 season on March 3rd when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to compete in their annual spring break trip. You can find their entire schedule HERE.
