Oct. 8, 2019 - North Central College women's soccer goalie Madison Lockard has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Cardinals played one game over the past week, taking down previously-undefeated Augustana College by a 1-0 tally. Lockard was a huge part of that victory, saving nine shots on her way to her third shutout of the season. She is up to 66 saves on the season and has a 6-4-1 record, with three of those wins as shutouts.

This is Lockard's second selection this season season as well as in her career at North Central.

The Cardinals play Illinois Wesleyan on the road on Oct. 9.
