Feb. 6, 2019 – In the first installment of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week award of the season, North Central College's
Andy Hinch earned the honor this week, released by the conference on Wednesday.
Hinch went 4-0 over the weekend to lead the Cardinals to a pair of victories over Wartburg College (Iowa) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wisconsin) last Saturday. Hinch teamed up with
Tyler Haizel to earn a pair of wins at the No. 2 doubles position, while scoring a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Wartburg's Grant Kincaid and a 6-1, 6-0 victory over MSOE's Curt Norton in the night cap.
The award marks the fourth-straight season a Cardinal has earned the weekly award and is the 17
th overall selection since the CCIW began the award in 2008.
North Central (2-1) returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 9, taking on Lake Forest College at 6 p.m. inside the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
