2018-2019 NABC Honors Court

Mike Pollack have been recognized with selections to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' (NABC) Honors Court, in recognition of excellence in academics, marking the Cardinals' largest representation on the list of honorees since the award's inception.
The Honors Court consists of varsity student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.2 grade-point average and achieved junior or senior academic standing. A total of 391 NCAA Division III players from 113 institutions met the qualifications this season.
Cappelletti, a double major in management and marketing, started 27 of North Central's 29 games this season and earned First Team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) accolades. He led the CCIW in rebounding (8.0 per game) while ranking seventh in scoring (15.1 points per game) and ninth in three-pointers made (2.07 per game). Cappelletti led the team in scoring seven times, including a career-high 35-point, 16-rebound double-double against Husson University (Maine) on Dec. 27.
Koth, a recent graduate with majors in management and finance, is an Honors Court selection for the second straight year. He played in all 29 games as a senior, starting 15, and averaged 7.2 points per game. He led the team in scoring three times, highlighted by a 26-point effort at Illinois Wesleyan University Jan. 9.
Pollack is a physics major and Air Force ROTC student at North Central. He appeared in all 29 of the Cardinals' games, putting up 6.7 points per game and ranking 11th in the CCIW in three-point percentage (.413). He achieved a single-game high scoring output of 16 points at Finlandia University Nov. 27 and made a three-pointer at the buzzer in overtime to secure a 93-92 victory at Millikin University Jan. 23.
A total of 14 CCIW representatives appear on this year's Honors Court.

The Cardinals finished the 2018-2019 season with an overall record of 23-6, winning the CCIW Tournament for the fifth time and qualifying for the Division III Men's Basketball Championship for the fourth straight year. The 2019-2020 schedule opens Nov. 12, when North Central hosts the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
