2019-2020 AVCA Team Academic Award

July 20, 2020 – Honored for its success in the classroom during the 2019-2020 academic year, the North Central College women's volleyball team was honored with the Team Academic Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), released by the organization on Monday.
 
The team academic award has been presented since the 1992-93 academic year and honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. 
 
The Team Academic Award is the third in program history for North Central, also earning the award in 2012-2013 and 2017-2018.
 
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was represented by eight of the nine institutions, as Carroll University, Carthage College, Elmhurst College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Millikin University, North Park University and Wheaton College join the list of 231 NCAA Division III institutions honored last season. 
 
The Cardinals are slated to begin the 2020 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1, hosting Concordia University Chicago inside Gregory Arena at 7 p.m.  The full 2020 schedule is available HERE.
