Cardinals Pace CCIW in Classroom

Sept. 28, 2020 - The North Central College women's soccer team has been selected as a 2019-2020 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winner, announced last week by the organization. 

To receive the award, each school has to maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average for during the 2019-2020 academic year. There were 897 teams that received the award for last year. 
 
The Cardinals received the award with a 3.64 GPA last year while posting a 9-9-1 overall record and 5-3 record in conference play. They made the CCIW Tournament this past fall for the first time since the 2016 season. The Cardinals have now won the Team Academic Award in back-to-back seasons. The 3.64 GPA was the highest in the CCIW for both men's and women's soccer.  

North Central is one of 178 institutions from all Divisions that had both of its men's and women's programs earn a spot on the Team Academic Award list. 
 
Other CCIW schools to receive the award are Carroll University, Carthage College, Elmhurst University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Millikin University.
