Men’s Soccer Jumps to No. 14 in National Rankings

Nov. 11, 2021 - After claiming their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship in program history, the North Central College men's soccer team moved up seven spots in the lastest D3soccer.com Top 25. 

The Cardinals finished the season with an 18-1-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 CCIW record taking down Illinois Wesleyan in the Semifinals and Wheaton College in the Championship to secure their first bid into the NCAA Tournament in program history. 

This is the final poll from D3soccer.com and the Cardinals have been ranked each week since their first poll on Sept. 21. This week the Cardinals moved up seven spots to claim the No. 14 spot. Tufts University claimed the top spot this week followed by Messiah College in second, Washington & Lee University in third, Amherst College in fourth and rounding out the top five is Trinity University (Texas).  

Ohio Wesleyan University is ranked sixth, Washington University (Mo.) in seventh, University of Chicago in eighth, Cortland State in ninth and Kenyon College in tenth. North Park also made an appearance in this week's poll, dropping from 15th to 21st this week after falling to Wheaton College in overtime in the CCIW Semifinals.

The Cardinals open up the NCAA Tournament on Saturday as they travel to Northfield, Minn. to take on Loras College at 1:30 pm CST on the campus of St. Olaf University. For more information about the NCAA Tournament, click HERE. For the official NCAA men's soccer bracket, click HERE
