Women’s Wrestling Ranked Fourth in Dual Rankings

NCAA Women's Team Dual Rankings

Dec. 28, 2021 - The North Central College women's wrestling team was ranked fourth in the first National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Team Dual Rankings of the year just a few weeks before the NWCA National Duals in Kentucky. 

The Cardinals are currently 9-0 in dual meets this season, taking down Augustana College, Carthage College, Indiana Tech, Dixie State University, No. 11 Tiffin University and Ottawa University. 

King University claimed the top spot in the most recent rankings. King is currently 1-0 on the season taking down No. 5 Emmanuel College on Nov. 10. McKendree University was ranked second with Simon Fraser following in third. Mckendree and Simon Fraser have yet to wrestle in a dual meet this season. Following the Cardinals is Colorado Mesa (4-0) in fifth, Augsburg (1-0)  in sixth, and Tiffin University (8-2) in seventh. Presebyterian (1-0) was ranked eighth followed by Gannon (1-0) in ninth and Schreiner (4-2) rounding out the top ten 

The top eight teams will be seeded for the NWCA National Duals on January 6-7, with the other eight teams being drawn into the bracket. 

The Cardinals are back in action on Jan. 6-7 as they travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete in the NWCA National Duals. The matches are set to start at 9:00 am inside the Kentucky Exposition Center.
