Executing a rare clean sweep of first-place finishes all contested events and getting a national season-best effort in the mile run, the North Central College men's track and field team enjoyed an evening full of high-level performances during Friday night's unscored dual meet with Elmhurst University at Al B. Carius Track.

The 11th-ranked Cardinals won all 14 events, with 14 athletes contributing to the first-place showings. North Central's Gabe Pommier delivered a personal-best performance in the mile run despite running much of the race on his own, as his finishing time of four minutes, 9.10 seconds was 14 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer. Pommier's time easily bests his previous personal record of 4:12.58 and moves him into third place in North Central history all-time. It is the fastest indoor mile time turned in by a Cardinal since four-time national champion and North Central Athletic Hall of Famer Tim McCoskey '01 in 2000. Pommier is now the NCAA Division III national leader in the event by nearly three seconds.

Kendall Johnson was the lone double individual winner for North Central, establishing a new personal best of 46 feet, 10.75 inches to win the triple jump. Johnson also won a photo finish in the 60-meter dash, narrowly outleaning teammate Kevin Dixon as both were timed in 7.19 seconds. Dixon teamed with Michael Stanley, AJ Lehman and Ben Piotrowski to win the 4-by-400-meter relay (3:31.06), and Stanley also won the 200-meter dash (22.52) and Lehman prevailed in the 400-meter dash (52.28).

Also placing first for the Cardinals were Kase LeDay in the 60-meter hurdles (9.40), Griff inskeep at 800 meters (2:00.82), Clark Kelly at 3,000 meters (9:03.86), Nick Janca in the high jump (6'5.50"), Jacob Miller in the long jump (21'1.50"), Gavin Carr in the pole vault (13'11.25"), Riley Hughes in the shot put (46'4") and Taylor Sadkowski in the 35-pound weight throw (49'0.25").

North Central hosts Wheaton College in dual competition on Friday.
