Mar. 2, 2021 - North Central College's Katie Bonney has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Track Athlete of the Week in recognition of performances achieved in Friday's dual meet with Wheaton College. The CCIW announced this week's award winners on Tuesday.

Bonney finished first in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes in Friday's meet at Al B. Carius Track, finishing the 400 in a season-best time of 59.20 seconds and achieving a personal-best time of 25.86 seconds in the 200. Bonney's time in the 200 is tied for No. 5 on the Cardinals' all-time list indoors, and the senior also ranks fourth in the 400 (57.65, achieved last season). Bonney posted a time of 7.91 seconds in the 60-meter dash in North Central's Feb. 19 dual vs. Elmhurst University which ranks fifth-fastest in the program's history.

Nationally among NCAA Division III competitors, Bonney currently ranks seventh in the 200, ninth in the 400 and 15th in the 60 while also sitting 13th in the 4-by-400-meter relay (4:05.10). 

The 16th-ranked Cardinals will host Elmhurst in a dual competition on Friday. Competition is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
