CCIW Tabs Miller as Hitter of the Week

Apr. 20th, 2021 - Earning her second career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) weekly award, senior Emily Miller of the North Central College softball steam was named the conference's Hitter of the Week for her performance in the past nine games, released on Tuesday.

Miller batted .552 as the Cardinals tallied a 6-3 record this past week. In her 29 at-bats, the McHenry native posted 16 hits, eight RBI's, five doubles, five runs, and a slugging percentage of .724. She also totaled 10 putouts in the outfield as she flashed her glove-work on several occasions to help North Central to record three shutouts over the seven days.

She is the first Cardinal to win a weekly award since she did it for the first time on April 17th of 2018. Since 2004, Cardinal softball has earned 37 weekly honors from the CCIW.
