May 1st, 2021 - For the first time this season, North Central College men's lacrosse Tom Eberhardt and Trenton Herubin were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offense and Defense/Face-Off Players of the Week on Monday.
Eberhardt, totaled 13 goals last week that helped secure the No.2 seed in this Wednesday's CCIW Men's Lacrosse Tournament. He had two goals and one assist against Carthage College on Monday, April 26, five goals on Wednesday, April 28th against Augustana College, and six goals including the game winner in a 14-13 victory over Elmhurst University on May 1.
Herubin was part of the Cardinal defense that played against some of the conference's top offensive players last week that shut them down and helped the Cardinals go 3-0 on the week. Herubin had three caused turnovers against Augustana and two against Elmhurst. He was also, apart of the North's Central man down defense that went 12-of-15 last week.
The two helped extend the Cardinals win streak to five games and set a program record with 11 wins in a season with their win over Elmhurst on Saturday. On Wednesday, May 5th, the Cardinals will take on Carthage College in the first round of the CCIW tournament. Game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
