Farrell Highlights 7 All-CCIW Selections

2021 All-CCIW Men's Lacrosse Teams

May 5th, 2021 - The North Central College men's lacrosse team sets a program record for players selected to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin and head coach Jay Farrell gets named Coach of the Year for the first time in program history. 

After becoming the first head coach in program history in their inaugural season of 2017, five years later Farrell is named Coach of the Year in the CCIW for the first time in program history. Farrell has posted two double-digit win seasons as head coach of the Cardinals and set a program record this season with players selected to the All-CCIW Teams. 

After being named player of the week earlier this week, Trenton Herubin earned First Team honors for his efforts this season. Also, earning First Team honors are Scott Allgood and Steven Faux. S. Allgood is tied for 3rd in the conference for assists in a game, while Faux is top ten in the conference for ground balls per game and ranked seventh for caused turnovers. 

Jake Allgood received Second Team all conference for his efforts in goal this season. He ranks third in goals against average, fourth in save percentage, and sixth in saves per game in the conference. Also, earning Second Team honors are John Fitzgerald, Riley Bachinski, and Nick Rubino. Fitzgerald ranks top ten in caused turnovers. Bachinski, is fourth in the conference in points per game and ranks sixth in the conference for shots per game. Rubino is ranked in the top ten for goals per game, top five for assists per game, and top five for points per game. 

The Cardinals 11-1 (5-1 CCIW) are in action tonight as they host Carthage College 10-3 (3-2 CCIW)  in the Semifinal of the CCIW Tournament. Click HERE to watch.
