June 14, 2021 – A total of six North Central College softball student-athletes were awarded All-America Scholar Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/Easton for their academic prowess this season.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale over both semesters of the 2020-21 academic year.
The six selections are the second most in program history, as the 2017 squad landed seven on the NFCA/Easton All-America Scholar Athlete teams.
All six selections are also first-time award winners for the Cardinals, as senior
Samantha Gadomski and junior
Breanna Adams were joined by sophomores
Mary Leskovec and
Kylie Ryza, as well as first-year's
Katie Del Re and
Alyssa Cork.
As a program, the Cardinals have had 101 total All-America Scholar Athletes since the initial awards were handed out in 1996, including 44 selections since 2010.
