2021 USILA Academic Team Awards

June 30th, 2021 - The North Central College men's lacrosse team has been recognized for their performance in the classroom during the 2021 season, as they were among one of 53 Division III schools to earn an United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-Academic Team Award.

This is the first time in their short program history that the men's lacrosse has earned an USILA All-Academic Team Award. North Central was one of two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) schools to win an award along with Illinois Wesleyan University.

The men's lacrosse team accomplished a lot during their 2021 season. For the first time in program history they were able to beat Elmhurst University, Carthage College (twice), and Augustana College. In the first ever battle for the Chicago/Maple Ave Cup against Benedictine University, North Central was able to prevail against their rival from down the street.

They also appeared in the CCIW Tournament for the first time in program history, beating Carthage College in the semifinal game of the tournament for their first win in the tournament. They fell to Illinois Wesleyan University in overtime of the championship game closing their historic season.
