URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Sept. 19, 2021) – The North Central College women's triathlon team showed up in dominant fashion at the Tri the Illini race Sunday morning as they produced six athletes in the top-25, and claimed the individual and runner-up titles.

Hailey Poe continues to show her talents as she came away with the first-place finish in the women's collegiate category in a time of one hour, six minutes, and 30.1 seconds. Poe was the first athlete out of the water for the 300-meter-swim in four minutes and 33.5 seconds. The 14-mile bike was a small feat for Poe as she finished with the top time of 41 minutes and 1.9 seconds. Poe completed the 5-kilometer run in a quick 19 minutes and 49 seconds.

Annika Cotner was the next Cardinal through the finish line, finishing in one hour, and seven minutes and 52.7 seconds to turn in a second-place finish. Cotner completed the swim in four minutes 54.7 seconds, the bike in 41 minutes 26.4 seconds, and the run in 20 minutes and 30.5 seconds.

Natalie Grolmes finished the course in seventh place with a time of 1:14:12.9. Cora Isaacson completed the course in 1:15:25.2 to place 11th. Jena Livesay (1:22:15.4) and Abigail Anderson (1:30:09.1) finished in 19th and 24th, respectively, to complete North Central's top-25.

The Cardinals' next competition is in Decatur, Ill. for the Milikin University D3 Invitational on Sept. 25.
