Peoria, Ill. (Oct. 14, 2022) – The North Central College women's cross country team held their own on Saturday finishing ninth overall in the 22-team field at the Bradley Pink Classic hosted by Bradley University.
Nicole Brandy led the Cardinals through the six-kilometer course finishing in 29th place among 190 competitors with a time of 23 minutes and 11.9 seconds. Julia Benes crossed next in 51st place in a time of 23 minutes and 47.9 seconds, followed by Julianne Billings (24:01.3) in 60th.
Natalie Nestler (24:43.4) and Emmy Mussey (24:52.0) finished close together in 83rd and 87th respectively. Lauren Belvel (24:53.9) and Paige Runkle (25:03.6) rounded out the Cardinals top-seven finishers in 92nd and 97th.
Grand Valley St. won the meet with a score of 24 points, Loyola placed second with 82 points. South Dakota St. placed third with 124 points, Milwaukee in fourth with 137 points, Oakland came in fifth with 148 points, Bradley in sixth with 171 points, St. Thomas (Minn.) in seventh with 220 points, Millikin in eighth with 223 points, and North Central in ninth with 255 points.
North Central returns to competition on Oct. 29th in Warrenville, Ill. for the CCIW Championship hosted by Elmhurst University.
