Oct. 15, 2022 - The No. 22 North Central College women's soccer team hosted the Carroll University Pioneers on Saturday evening for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match-up that ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

After a scoreless first half, the North Central (10-1-3) offense looked to break ahead of Carroll (8-3-4) as Kaitlyn Cannon clinched a strike off the crossbar into the back of the net in the 46th minute — her fourth goal this season.

Carroll nearly replicated the shot later in the 74th minute as Grace Tumilty had a chip shot off the crossbar and just out of reach of Cardinal goalkeeper Jordan Boyd to set the score even at one-all.

The Cardinals were outshot by the Pioneers 17-9. Cannon was the team lead for shots with three followed by Elle Sutter and Yazmin Martinez with two each. Boyd took her spot in the box, tallying six saves during the contest, bringing her season total to 42.

The Cardinals host the Millikin University Big Blue on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
