Exciting Homecoming Weekend for the Cardinals

East Lansing, MI. (Oct. 1, 2022) – A sunny morning race at Forest Akers Golf Course where North Central College men's cross country team saw seven of its student-athletes place in the top-50 during a preview of the Nationals. The Cardinals turned in a score of 98 points to place second in the Varsity Meet. North Central also placed second in the Men's Open portion of the Nationals preview with a score of 52 points. We saw five of our student athletes place in the top-50.
 

During the Varsity Meet, the first Cardinals to complete the eight-kilometer course were Max Svienty in a time of twenty four minutes, and fifty four point nine seconds who placed fourteen. Not far behind was Braden Nicholson  (24:57.9) who placed fifteenth, Connor Riss (25:01.3) placing eighteenth, Julian Higueros (25:19.0) in twenty-fifth, Andrew Guimond (25:19.8) in twenty- sixth,  Thomas Rohr (25:21.1) in twenty- eighth, and Jacob Kluckhohn (25:33.0) in thirty- eighth to round out North Central's top seven finishers.

During the Men's Open Meet, the first to complete the course was Ishaan Patel in a time of twenty six minutes, and four point eight seconds placing first overall. Right behind him was Nathan Halbrader (26:08.5) placing second overall. The remaining Cardinals to finish in the top-50 were Nigel Neibel (26:11.5) in fourth, Jonathan Olenek (26:43.2) in eleventh, Austin Emrath (27:56.0) in fortieth to round out North Central's top five finishers. 

In the Varsity Men's meet finishing in first place was MIT with 62 points, North Central in second with 98 points, Wis.-La Crosse in third with 108 points, Wis.-Whitewater in fourth with 147 points, and George Fox in fifth with 187 points.

Finishing in first place of the Men's Open meet was Wis.-La Crosse with 30 points, North Central in second with 52 points, Loras in third with 88 points, Wis.-Whitewater in fourth with 105 points, and St. Lawrence in fifth with 143 points. 
 

Rock Island, IL. (Oct. 1, 2022)- An exciting weekend at Saukie Golf Course where North Central saw six student athletes finish in the top-15 during the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. The Cardinals turned in a score of 44 points placing second.

The first Cardinal to finish the race was Clark Kelly in twenty six minutes, and sixteen point four seconds placing seventh overall. The remaining Cardinals to finish inside the top-15 are Kyle Nofziger (26:24.1) in ninth, Andres Perez (26:25.0) in tenth, Gage Nielsen (26:27.9) in eleventh, Logan Schaefer (26:30.1) in twelfth, and Lucas Hoffman (26:38.3) in fourteenth. 

Finishing in first place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational was University Of Illinois Club with 27 points, North Central in second with 44 points, Augustana College in third with 58 points, Monmouth College in fourth with 142 points, and Fontbonne in fifth with 142 points. 

The Cardinals head to the Augustana College Invitational on Oct. 15 hosted by Augustana College.
