2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams

Nov. 15, 2022 - The North Central College women's soccer program has landed six of its student-athletes on the NCAA Division III College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The CSC announced its honorees on Tuesday. 

Nominated by members of the CSC, honorees are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performers on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees automatically advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December. 

A junior sociology major, Sarah Andrey is a first time Academic All-District honoree. Andrey led the team this season with shots (84) and recorded eight goals and two assists on the season, earning her an All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) First Team selection for the first time in her career. Andrey earned Academic All-CCIW accolades in 2021.

Kaitlyn Cannon, a senior elementary education major, earned her first Academic All-District honor. Cannon earned Academic All-CCIW and First Team All-CCIW selections in 2021. Cannon tallied four goals and two assists this season bringing her career total to 11 assists--good for fifth all-time.

Kily Egan, a senior marketing major, earns her second-straight Academic All-District honor after being named to the All-District team and Academic All-America last season. Egan is a two-time Academic All-CCIW honoree and was named the CCIW Elite 26 recipient for two-consecutive seasons. She was named to the All-CCIW Second Team in 2021 and has played in all 19 games this season while recording three assists.

A junior human resource management and international business double major, Katie Huey is a first-time Academic All-District honoree. Huey was named to the Academic All-CCIW and All-CCIW Second Team during the 2021 season. Huey had one goal and one assist this season, with the game winning goal against Illinois Wesleyan in the final minute of play during the Cardinals regular season finale. 

Ellie Lochbaum, a junior elementary education major earns her first Academic All-District distinction. Lochbaum had four goals and two assists to earn First Team All-CCIW accolades while also being named this year's CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year. Lochbaum also earned Academic All-CCIW honors in 2021.

Junior marketing major, Elle Sutter was the Cardinals' final student-athlete to make the Academic All-District team. Sutter was the team's lead scorer with 13 goals this season, good for fourth in program history. Sutter was named to the All-CCIW First Team for the second-straight year and earned Academic All-CCIW accolades in 2021.

The Cardinals capped off a historic 2022 season tying for the most wins in a single season (12) while consistently being ranked in regional and national polls. North Central went undefeated in conference play, making it back to the conference championship for the second straight year, and tallied the most members on the All-CCIW and Academic All-District teams.
