2022 CSC Academic All-District Teams - Volleyball

Nov. 22, 2022 - Setting a program record in the classroom, three members of the North Central College women's volleyball team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams for their hard work on academics and on the court.

Nominated by members of CSC, honorees are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in the classroom and on the volleyball court

Amber Vande Hei, a biology major from Green Bay, Wisconsin led the Cardinals in blocks as she tallied 56.0 blocks over her 75 sets played. She also ranked fourth with 137 kills with a .213 hitting percentage. She totaled a career-high seven blocks against both Elmhurst and Illinois Tech this season.

Kendra Battle, a finance and business economics major from North Aurora, Illinois finished third on the Cardinals with 140 kills and third in blocks with 42.0. On October 29th, Battle registered a season-high 14 kills in North Central's 3-2 victory over the Scarlet Hawks.

Abbi Barickman, a mechanical engineering major from Geneseo, Illinois finished with 203 kills on the year, second on the Cardinals. In North Central's match against Carthage, Barickman posted 18 kills, the most in her young career. 

These three Cardinals join Stephanie Ryding (2008, 2009) and Reagan Raymer (2018) as the only Cardinals to earn CSC Academic All-District accolades in program history.

Academic All-District honorees automatically advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on December 21st.
