CCIW Week 10 Student-Athletes of the Week

Nov. 8, 2022 - North Central College defensive tackle Dan Lester has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for games played Nov. 5, becoming the CCIW's first two-time winner of the award this season.

Lester was recognized for contributions to the No. 1-ranked Cardinals' 68-3 win at Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday. Lester tied a career high with seven total tackles, forced a fumble and recorded a quarterback sack for an 11-yard loss on third down. Lester's 16 tackles for loss this season rank eighth-highest in North Central history and he currently sits third in the CCIW and 18th among all NCAA Division III defenders in tackles for loss per game (1.8).

North Central (9-0, 8-0 CCIW) has received six of the CCIW's Student-Athlete of the Week awards this season. Lester and linebacker BJ Adamchik were previously chosen as honorees on defense, while quarterback Luke Lehnen and wide receiver DeAngelo Hardy have been so honored on offense and kicker/punter Tanner Rains was chosen on special teams.

Already assured of its spot in this year's NCAA Division III Football Championship, the Cardinals close out the regular season Saturday by hosting Augustana College (5-4, 4-4). Kickoff at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. Click HERE for the full 2022 schedule.
