Dec. 15, 2022 - The North Central College women's soccer program found three of its student-athletes on the United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-Region teams as Ellie Lochbaum, Elle Sutter, and Sarah Andrey earned selections while Lochbaum and Sutter become the program's first-ever Scholar All-America honorees. The organization announced its selections on Thursday.

Lochbaum, a junior from Sycamore, continues to build upon her exceptional resume as she adds a First Team Scholar All-Region and First Team Scholar All-American to her list of awards. Earlier this season, the elementary education major was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. On the field, Lochbaum was named the program's first-ever All-American and was a part of the program's most significant number of inductees to the United Soccer Coaches' All-Region teams. She was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference recognition as well. 

Sutter, a junior from Peoria, joins Lochbaum on the Scholar All-American list, making the third team and being named to the Scholar All-Region second team. Lochbaum and Sutter are the program's first student-athletes to receive Scholar All-American distinction. The marketing major was also named to the CSC Academic All-District team earlier this year. Sutter was the Cardinals' lead scorer this season with 13 goals, earning her All-Region and All-Conference honors.

Andrey, a sociology major from St. Charles earned Scholar All-Region recognition for her excellence on the field and in the classroom as she was named to the Third Team. Andrey led the Cardinals in shots this season and picked up eight goals on the year. She earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team and All-CCIW First Team honors. 

North Central finished the 2022 season with a 12-2-5 record, tying for the most wins in a single season and returned to the CCIW championship match for the second-straight year.
