Feb. 11-12, 2022 - A weekend for the record books, the North Central College women's track and field team sent a small group to the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Friday before hosting the Pat Hennan Invitational at the Al B. Carius Track on Saturday.

North Central made their small presence known at Grand Valley on Friday as As the only Division III student-athlete in the event, Alexandra Draves turned in a boisterous throw of 17.51 meters to place second in the weight throw. Her toss on Friday moved her into sixth in the national rankings before coming back for round two on Saturday morning where Draves broke her own school record with a 17.80-meter toss to move into fifth nationally.

Following that success was Julia Babinec who finished seventh overall at Grand Valley with a personal best time of 8.64 seconds in the 60-meter-hurdles. Babinec's time currently ranks second in program history and on the national list and is the 16th fastest time in Division III history.

Kathy Myrda tied for 10th in the pole vault at Grand Valley with a vault of 3.56 meters.

Saturday's Pat Hennan Invitational brought more success to the women's program as Lindsey Novak turned in a first-place finish in the 400-meter-run with a time of 58.68 and doubled with a second-place finish in the 200-meter with a personal best time of 25.76. Novak's time moved her from ninth to fourth in the program's history.

Denise Partee turned in a personal best time of 8.98 seconds in the 60-meter-hurdles to place third. Partee moved into fifth in the program's history and ranks 20th nationally. Running a personal best time of 9.47 seconds, Katie Wagner took fifth place in the meet and inserted herself into the record books at eighth all-time in program history. Also moving into the program's top-10 list was Marcedes Jackson in the 60-meter-dash with a time of 7.90, placing fourth. Jackson's time ranks fifth in North Central history.

Third-place finishes came from Natalie Johnson in the pole vault (3.35 meters), Jenna Fiore in the 5,000-meter-run (18:40.92), Madzia Myrda in the 800-meter-run (2:23.65), and the 4x400-meter-relay team of Allison Grady, Novak, Hannah Jones and Stephanie Garcia (4:07.00).

The Cardinals placed third with 89.33 points behind the University of Chicago's 169.33 points and Lewis University's 160 points.
