Mar. 16, 2022 - North Central College women's tennis player Natalie Bassett earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Tennis Player of the Week award after posting a 4-0 record on the week, including helping the Cardinals' take down No. 20 Denison University, 7-2 on Monday.

In her first singles match of the week, Bassett won 6-0, 6-0 over Rylee Schurman (Bethel University) and Monique Brual (Denison) at No. 3 singles. In doubles action, she teamed up with Kaeli Smashey to defeat Bethel, 8-2, and Denison, 8-5.

On the year, Basset is 11-2, playing all her matches at No. 3 singles. She improved to 13-2 in doubles play. Bassett joins Smashey and Alaina Kanthaphixay as Cardinals who earned CCIW Player of the Week honors in the 2021-2022 season.

North Central finishes their spring break trip by taking on the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse at 3 PM (ET) down in Orlando, Fla.
