CCIW Release

Apr. 19, 2021 - North Central College distance runner, Max Svienty, was awarded this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student Track Athlete of the Week after his performance at the First Chance Invitational hosted by North Central.

Svienty competed in the 1,500-meter run posting a time of 3:54.26 finishing in second-place. He also competed in the Al Carius Old Fashioned Track Meet hosted by Wheaton College, placing first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:38.94.

This marks Svienty's first CCIW athlete of the week award, and North Central's first of the outdoor season. The Cardinals' Nick Janca and Jamauri Spivery earned weekly awards during the inddor season.

The Cardinals will head to Wheaton College to compete in the Wheaton College Invitational Saturday, Apr. 23.
