Men’s Lacrosse Earns Five All-CCIW Honors

May. 4, 2022 - Five members of the North Central College men's lacrosse team have earned All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) honors, as senior midfielder Scott Allgood, junior midfielder Dylan Mlinarich and  junior defenseman Trenton Herubin were selected to the first team and junior Midfielders Jack Moran and Nick Rubino were selected to the second team, the Conference announced Wednesday. 

Allgood, a finance major from Naperville, Ill, is a two-time All-CCIW selection after being a first team honoree in 2021. He has started and played in 13 games this season for the Cardinals, tallying 22 goals and a team-best 20 assists. Allgood surpassed 100 career points in the Cardinals 14-8 win over Transylvania University on Apr. 29 as he had five points. 

Mlinarich, an environmental studies major from Elgin, Ill, earned his first All-CCIW honor following an impressive 2022 season. He has 13 caused turnovers this season while picking up 16 ground balls. He had a career high three caused turnovers in the Cardinals 9-8 win over Elmhurst University on Apr. 16. 

Herubin, a mechanical engineering major from Prior Lake, Minn, is a two-time All-CCIW selection after being a first team honoree in 2021. He has played in 13 games for the Cardinals season, starting 12 games. He has a team-best 23 caused turnovers while picking up 41 ground balls this season for the Cardinals. He had a season high four caused turnovers against Illinois Wesleyan on Apr. 6. 

Moran, an economics major from Rosemount, Minn. earned his first All-CCIW honor after an impressive 2022 season on the offensive side for the Cardinals. He has played in all 14 games for the Cardinals, starting 13 games. He has a team high 47 points with 27 goals and a team high 20 assists. He had a season high six points in an overtime loss to Carthage College on Apr. 24. 

Rubino, a mechanical engineering major from Chicago, Ill, is a two-time All-CCIW selection after being a second team honoree in 2021. He has played in all 14 games this season, starting nine games. He has 30 points this season with 22 goals and eight assists. Rubino had a season high four goals at Illinois Wesleyan on Apr. 6. 

Sophomore Tom Eberhardt, a business management major from Elburn, Ill. was North Central's recipient of the RESPECT Award this season.  RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.

The Cardinals (7-7, 3-3 CCIW) take a trip up north to Kenosha, Wis. to take on the Firebirds of Carthage College in the CCIW Semifinals. The opening face-off is set for 7 pm inside Art Keller Field. For more information about the CCIW Tournament, click HERE.
