June 14, 2022 - After claiming their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship and making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament,
Scott Allgood,
Trenton Herubin and
Dylan Mlinarich of the North Central College men's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) All-Region 5 teams, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Allgood was named to the IMLCA first team with Herubin earning second team accolades and Mlinarich selected as an honorable mention.
Allgood, a first team All-CCIW selection, played and started in 16 games this season for the Cardinals. He scored 24 goals while picking up 21 assists this season, he ranked second in assists and third in points (45) this season. Allgood finished his career with 103 career points and is ranked second in career assists with 59.
On the defensive end, Herubin played in 16 games this season, starting 15 of them. He led the team with 27 caused turnovers while picking up 49 ground balls this season and had a season high four caused turnovers against Illinois Wesleyan University on April 4. Herubin is currently ranked fifth in program history for caused turnovers (54) and sixth in ground balls (88).
Mlinarich, a first team All-CCIW selection, played in all 17 games for the Cardinals this season causing 16 turnovers and picking up 20 ground balls. He had a season high three caused turnovers against John Carroll University on May 11.
This is the most All-Region selections the program has had since the start of their program in 2017 as Tommy Huzinga '20 was the first Cardinal selected to the All-Region team in 2019. The Cardinals finished the season with a 9-8 record, winning their first CCIW Championship and making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
