ITA Division III Scholar Athletes

July 13, 2022 - Earning the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-Academic Team accolades for the fifth consecutive season, the North Central College women's tennis team also had nine student-athletes receive ITA Scholar Athlete honors for the 2021-22 season.

To qualify for the ITA All-Academic Team award, a program must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or above, as all varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA. The Cardinals join fellow College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin members Augustana College, Carroll University, Carthage College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Millikin University, and Wheaton College as All-Academic Teams. North Central has received this team award seven times since its inception.

Individuals must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or above to earn ITA's Scholar Athlete award. Anna Fox, Laura Fox, Sjana Henderson, Hannah Hougland, Linsy Jante, Katie McGraw, Nina Patience, and Sydney Sawyer are the Cardinal recipients for this season. McGraw earned her fourth ITA Scholar Athlete award while Laura Fox and Sawyer are three-time recipients. Henderson, Hougland, and Patience are second-time award winners.

On the year, North Central won both the CCIW regular season title with a perfect 8-0 record before winning the CCIW's AQ Tournament on their way to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. The Cardinals finished the season 22-6, a program-best for wins in a season.
