2021-22 College Team Academic Award Recipients

July 28, 2022 - For the eighth time in program history, the North Central College women's soccer team was named a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award recipient to celebrate their success in the classroom, the organization released on Thursday morning.

A total of 746 soccer teams (220 men, 382 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. This year's Cardinal team boasted a 3.60 team GPA, the second highest in program history, only behind the 2019-20 squad.

On the field, the Cardinals recorded one of their most successful seasons in school history as they played in their first-ever College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Title game following a 12-7-1 overall record while finishing third in the CCIW with a 6-2 conference record. The 12 wins broke a school record for overall wins in a single season.

Joining North Central from the CCIW as USC Team Academic award winners are Carroll University, Carthage College, and Wheaton College.

The Cardinals kick off their 2022 campaign on September 1st as they welcome Aurora University to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at 7 pm. North Central has bested the Spartans in their two most recent contests. To view the entire 2022 schedule, click HERE.
