Aug. 2, 2022 - The North Central College softball team earned the Easton/National Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar accolades as a team for the fifth time in program history while six student-athletes were also named to the Scholar All-American list as individuals.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,227 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the 2021-22 academic year. In total, 115 teams from NCAA Division III institutions were selected as well.

The Cardinals posted a team GPA of 3.197 to earn the award for the first time since 2019. Katie Del Re earned the academic honors for the second time in her career while Anna Cameron, Mary Leskovec, Sarah Lynch, Kylie Ryza, and Alyssa Sturino are first-time Easton/NFCA Scholar All-American recipients.

Joining North Central from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) was Millikin University as the only two CCIW programs to be honored by Easton and the NFCA for their hard work in the classroom over the 2021-22 academic calendar.

The Cardinals begin their 2023 season in March with their schedule to be released at a later date.
