BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Sept. 10, 2022) - The North Central College women's triathlon team finished third overall among all NCAA divisions at the Beaver County Tri Cup on Saturday morning as four Cardinals finished in the top-20.

Hailey Poe was the first Cardinal across the finish line clocking an overall time of one hour, seven minutes and fifty-four seconds to finish third overall and first in Division III. Bethany Smeed (1:14:33.14) and Charlotte Kumler (1:14:46.59) stuck together through the course coming in together in 14th and 15th place, respectively. Scarlett Schuth (1:15:41.03) finished in 18th place to round out the Cardinals top 20 finishers.

Abigail Anderson (1:25:00.78) finished 29th overall while Taylin Lemke (1:26:46.29) Abigail Silberman (1:28:43.47), and Lauern Mackay (1:31:38.43) rounded out North Central's squad in 31st, 35th and 38th, respectively. 

North Central finished third overall against eight other NCAA teams spanning all divisions. The Cardinals were the highest scoring Division III team in the competition placing above Transylvania University and Trine University. 

The Cardinals will take a brief two-week hiatus from competition and will return to action on Sept. 24 for the Millikin Invitation hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.
