DUBUQUE, Iowa (Sept. 14, 2022) - Facing a strong non-conference opponent in Loras College, the North Central College women's soccer team fell 3-2 at the hands of the Duhawks on Wednesday at the Rock Bowl in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Cardinals maintained a steady defensive front for much of the first half but a late shot in the 42nd minute by the Duhawks' Ryleigh O'Brien put Loras on the board 1-0 headed into the second half.

North Central's Elle Sutter answered back quickly in the second half with a goal in the 48th minute to tie the score up at 1-1. Kily Egan found her opportunity to connect with Sutter in the 62nd minute to secure a Cardinal lead at 2-1. 

Loras found the gaps in the Cardinal defense late in the second half, putting together two goals in the 76th and 78th minute to regain control of the match at 3-2. A flurry of North Central fouls hindered the Cardinals' chances of scoring in the final 12 minutes of play as the score remained 3-2 until the end.

Jordan Boyd faced 21 shots in the box while adding seven saves to her stat line. 

North Central fell to a 4-1-1 record on the year and will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 as it hosts the Hope College Flying Dutch for a non-conference matchup inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at 12 p.m.
