WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 17, 2022) – The North Central College men's cross country team came in fourth on the familiar 8-kilometer course at St. James Farm. Against all eight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) foes and then some, at the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College in Warrenville, Ill. on Saturday.
Ishaan Patel was the first Cardinal to finish the race in 26 minutes and 13 seconds placing 19th. Kyle Nofziger was the next Cardinal to finish in 26 minutes and 24.8 seconds placing 27th. Right behind Nofziger was Jonathan Olenek (26:25.1) who placed 28th.
Completing the Cardinals' top-six was Gage Nielsen (26:34.2) in 31st, Clark Kelly (26:35.5) in 32nd, Luke Hoffmann (26:41.2) in 36th, and Andres Perez (26:53.2) in 43rd.
Washington University won the meet with 33 points followed by the University of Chicago in second with 44 points, Hope College in third with 94 points, North Central College in fourth with 133 points, and St. Francis to round out the top-five with 160 points.
North Central will take a short break in action before returning to competition on Oct. 1 in Rock Island, Ill. for the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
