DECATUR, Ill. (Sept. 24, 2022) - The North Central College women's triathlon team brought home another regular season win Saturday morning after outsourcing eight Division III institutions by 18 points at the Nelson Park Invitation, hosted by Millikin University. 

Hailey Poe was the first streak of red to cross the finish line in Decatur, finishing in a time of one hour eight minutes and 30 seconds to take first place for the third time this season. Bethany Smeed finished fourth with a time of 1:12:16 while Charlotte Kumler (1:12:56) trailed just behind in sixth. 

Scarlett Schuth (1:13:18) rounded out the Cardinals' top-10 finishers in eighth place while Taylin Lemke (1:20:09) and Natalie Grolmes (1:20:26) finished together in 20th and 21st. Abigail Anderson (1:22:51) crossed in 29th place.

North Central totaled 173 points to take first place, followed by Trine with 155 points and Millikin with 122 in second and third, respectively. 

The Cardinals will take a three-week hiatus from competition and will return for their final tune up before Nationals at the USA Triathlon West Region Qualifiers on Oct. 15 in Stockton, Mo.
