Oct. 15h, 2023 Peoria, Il – The North Central College Cardinals women's cross country team competed in the Pink Classic hosted by Bradley University. The Cardinals finished fourth in the competition out of 19 teams.
Julia Benes is the first Cardinal to cross the line for the Cardinals running a time of 22:53.20 for eighth place in the meet. The second scoring Cardinal is Lily Anderson running 23:59.10 finishing 27th overall in the meet. The next scoring Cardinals are Nicole Brandy in 32nd (24:06.70), Segilola Smith-Pariola in 35th (24:14.30), and Alanya Ruach in 48th (24:50.40).
The Cardinals overall would score 150 points to finish fourth in the meet. The top five teams in the meet are Iowa University in first place scoring 40 points, second place is Western Illinois University scoring 75 points, third place Central Michigan University scoring 106 points, and fifth place is Northern Illinois University scoring 164 points.
The Cardinals will look to prepare for championship racing as they prepare for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin meet on Oct. 28th.
