Oct. 24, 2023 – The North Central College women's soccer team earned their second straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) player of the week award sweep for offense (Jordan Lange) and defense (Katie Huey), while falling out of national rankings and down one slot in the Region VIII.

North Central College went 2-0 this past week improving to a perfect 7-0 record in conference play on the backs of seven shutout wins, clinching their program's first regular season champion title.

This helped put them one shutout away from being the first CCIW team to blank all conference opponents. Surprisingly this week put them on the outside looking in, falling out of the No. 24 slot in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25.

In the Region VIII, the Cardinals fell back a slot after the University of Chicago just narrowly tied both No. 3 Carnegie Mellon (0-0) and No. 6 Case Western Reserve (1-1).

The Cardinals were rewarded with their second straight sweep of the CCIW player of the week awards off of, complementing efforts from Jordan Lange on offense and Katie Huey on defense.

Huey, a senior from Urbandale, Iowa obtained her first career defensive player of the week award off of anchoring the defense and scoring a goal in each of the shutout wins against Millikin University (3-0) and Illinois Wesleyan University (6-0).

Lange obtained her second offensive player of the week award after hammering Illinois Wesleyan with three goals and taking a combined six shots on goal.

The North Central College women's soccer team faces their final regular season matchup against Augustana College on Oct. 25^th. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
