CCIW Release

Feb. 22, 2023 - North Central College men's track and field student-athlete Anthony Divenere has been selected as this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Field Athlete of the Week after turning in a first-place finish at last week's F. Lee Slick Invitational. The CCIW announced its selection on Wednesday.

This marks Divenere's first CCIW honor in his career and the team's third selection for the indoor season. The Glen Ellyn native made a personal best clearance of 14 feet, 5.25 inches (4.40 meters) to secure the event win last weekend. His new mark is the third-best in the CCIW ahead of this weekend's conference championship hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. As a program, North Central ranks first in the CCIW and fifth in the Midwest Region. 

Divenere and the Cardinals head to Bloomington, Illinois for the CCIW Championships on Friday, February 24th with competition continuing into Saturday. Friday's first event inside the Shirk Center is set for 11 a.m.
