BOURBONNAIS, Ill. / KENOSHA, Wis. (Feb. 4, 2023) - The North Central College men's track and field team collected four event wins this weekend at the Walter Cramer Invite hosted by Olivet Nazarene University while Jacob Ahlberg represented the Cardinals in the heptathlon at Carthage College's Tadd Metzger Invitational.

The Cardinals claimed two event wins in the field as Colton Oleson kicked off the weekend with a personal best effort of 1.87 meters in the high jump, good for fourth-best in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) standings. Riley Hughes had his season-best throw of 15.38 meters in the shot put to win the event by over a meter. Hughes currently ranks third in the CCIW in the shot put.

North Central jerseys overpowered the 3,000-meter run's 38-person field as the Cardinals claimed the top 10 spots in the event. Max Svienty clocked a significant personal best time of eight minutes, 22.64 seconds to win the event and move into the program's all-time list at No. 8. Svienty's time leads the CCIW and ranks 18th nationally. Braden Nicholson clocked an 8:25.85 personal best to finish second while Thomas Rohr finished third in 8:31.64.

The 4-by-400-meter relay team of AJ Lehman, Michael Robinson, Jason Connor, and Tyler Piron picked up the Cardinals' final event win of the weekend with a time of 3:28.37. Charley Smith turned in a 22.77-second run in the 200-meter dash to finish third in the 66-person field and round out North Central's final top-three efforts of the day.

Ahlberg finished seventh overall in the heptathlon event in Kenosha this weekend scoring his personal best of 3222 points to move up to eighth in the program's history. He posted personal best efforts in three of the seven events: 55-meter dash (7.48), shot put (10.75m), and 55-hurdles (9.86).

The Cardinals are back on their home turf on Saturday, Feb. 11 as they host the Pat Hennan Invitational at Al B. Carius Track.
