Mar. 22, 2023 - Capturing his first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week of the season, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez of North Central College men's tennis improved to 11-3 in singles play and 9-5 in doubles play in the No. 1 spot so far this season.

Against Denison University, Vilarroig Martinez defeated the No. 33 ranked singles player in the nation Jack Bulger, 2-6, 6-2, 10-8 before winning both the singles and doubles match in the Cardinals' win over Macalester College. He has won seven of his last eight doubles matches and five of his last seven doubles matches on the year.

This marks his fourth CCIW weekly award and is the 28th in program history. Javier Suarez Balsera and Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez are the two other current Cardinals' to have earned a CCIW Player of the Week award.

North Central opens CCIW play on Saturday as they host Wheaton College inside of Naperville Tennis Club. The action is set to begin at 1 p.m.
