ITA Regional Rankings

Apr. 28, 2023 - In the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Rankings before the NCAA Tournament, the North Central College women's tennis team stays at No. 8 in the Central Region.

The Cardinals, who earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament, are 21-6 on the year. Abigail Penados, North Central No. 1 singles player, moved up to No. 7 while Natalie Bassett (North Central No. 2) is ranked No. 17. Both are 21-4 on the season. The duo is No. 7 in the region for doubles play with an 11-2 record together in doubles play.

The University of Chicago remains at No. 1 with Washington University in St. Louis, Case Western Reserve University, Kenon College, and Denison rounding out the top five. Wheaton College and Millikin University are the other CCIW schools ranked in the poll.

The Cardinals await their destination in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA's Division III Selection Show will take place on May 1st at 11 a.m. on NCAA.com.
