2023 USILA DIII All-American List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 24, 2023) - Trenton Herubin and Dylan Mlinarich of the North Central College men's lacrosse team have been named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Honorable Mention All-Americans, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Players selected for All-American were nominated by their coach and then received votes from the All-American Committee. The duo of Herubin and Mlinarich was named the Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Co-Defensive Players of the Year earlier in May.

Now a two-time USILA Honorable Mention All-American, Herubin helped anchor the Cardinals' defense with a team-leading 25 caused turnovers while racking up 44 ground balls this season. The defenseman also scored five goals with an assist. Herubin has been chosen to play in the USILA DIII Senior All-Star Game on Friday. 

A first-time selection, Mlinarich was chosen as a short-stick defensive midfielder for the Cardinals. He tallied 10 caused turnovers and picked up nine ground balls while helping lead North Central to the least amount of goals allowed in the conference and the 54th-best scoring defense in the country with 9.88 goals allowed per game.

Herubin and Mlinarich are now the only two North Central men's lacrosse players to be named All-Americans since the program began in 2017. The Cardinals posted a 10-6 overall record with a 5-1 mark in CCIW play.
